The past couple of weeks it has been pouring, here in Sri Lanka and I have been indulging in the comforts of a mug of hot chocolate, quite often than I usually do. Today on Whimsical Connotations, let me give you my go-to recipe for this simple but delicious beverage. It certainly is for true chocolate lovers.
I am not crazy obsessed over chocolate. Most people i know are 🙂 They would have chocolate in any form really… Bars, ice-cream,cakes and so on. I occasionally eat them but I can do without but hot chocolate with whipped cream… Is a completely different story 😉 After much trial and error I think I have now established my very own mix.
Ingredients
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 1/2 cups whole milk
8oz of Maxwell House coffee (brewed)
Cooking chocolate (Dark) 250g carved or chopped
Sugar to taste (o usually take about 2 teaspoons)
Whipped cream for topping
Directions
Melt the chocolate in a double boiler and set it aside first.
Then in a medium saucepan mix whole milk, heavy cream, brewed coffee and sugar and put it on medium high heat and look out for the bubbles around the edges.
Taking off the stove and stir it while adding the melted chocolate.
Put it back on low heat for a couple of minutes and serve with whipped cream.
Ta-da! There you have it.
Enjoy :)x
